Shon Flanary Officially
Announces Retirement from Racing
20, 2019) In order to pursue other interests and
to spend more time with family, Shon Flanary officially announced
today that he plans to retire from racing effective immediately
and all of his equipment, including MB Customs racecars and several
different motors, is up for sale. Shon, who is the proud owner of
105 career feature wins and was the 2017 Iron-Man Modified Series
Champion, went out in style by picking up a victory in his last
start back on March 30 at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tennessee.
All is well with Shon and his crew chief Tim Ison and Shon would
like to thank Tim and all of his crew help over the course of his
career for all of their hard work and dedication. The Surgoinsville,
Tennessee native would also like to thank all of his family, friends,
sponsors, and fans for their unwavering support throughout his sixteen

Flanary Fast in New
Car; Picks Up First Win of 2019 Season!
31, 2019) Shon Flanary Racing debuted a new MB Customs
mount and promptly put the new car in victory lane on Saturday evening,
March 30 at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tennessee! Shon Flanary
knocked down the quickest time overall during qualifying to earn
Fast Time honors and the pole position for the 20-lap feature event.
Shon grabbed the point at the drop of the green flag in the weekly
Open Wheel Modified contest and led each circuit to pocket the $500
payday ahead of Jimmy Dalton, Amos Bunch, Jeff Hamby, and Wayne

Runner-Up Effort in Visit to 411
17, 2019) For the first time since Florida, Shon
Flanary and his #98 team returned to dirt-slinging action, as they
tackled 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tennessee for a weekly Open
Wheel Modified showdown on Saturday, March 16. Shon stopped the
clock third quickest overall during qualifying to earn the inside
of the second row for the $500 to win main event. The Surgoinsville,
Tennessee ace then drove up to second in the 20-lapper to place
a strong runner-up behind only victor Hunt Gossum! Full results

DIRTcar Nationals Modified
Nightly Results from Volusia...
11, 2019) It was a busy evening to close out the
'DIRTcar Nationals' for the #98 team tonight at Volusia Speedway
Park. In his rain-postponed 'Gator Qualifier' from Saturday, Shon
Flanary moved up two spots to finish fifth behind only $700 victor
Lucas Lee, David Stremme, Justin Allgaier, and Nick Hoffman. By
virtue of the stellar run, Shon later started from the inside of
the fifth row in the $5,000 to win 'Gator Championship' race at
the Daytona Beach-area speedplant. After vaulting up inside of the
top five early in the 30-lapper, Shon eventually wound up fifteenth
in the final finishing order.
(February 9, 2019)
Shon Flanary competed in his 'Gator Qualifier' tonight
at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida. After finishing
second in heat race action, Shon was scheduled to roll off from
the inside of the fourth row in the $700 to win qualifying feature.
However, Mother Nature had other plans and pushed the race back
to Monday, February 11.

Surgoinsville, Tennessee native Shon Flanary came close
to picking up a coveted Gator trophy tonight in his Five-Star 15
main event at the storied Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville,
Florida. Shon started tenth in his main event and vaulted all the
way up to second to finish an impressive runner-up behind only $600
victor Justin Haley!

Shon Flanary was back in the pit area at Volusia Speedway
Park in Barberville, Florida to challenge the stout Open Wheel Modified
field for the $1,000 windfall tonight in round three of the 'DIRTcar
Nationals.' Shon posted the fastest lap in his group during qualifying
and later grabbed the third transfer spot through his loaded heat
race. At the end of the 20-lap feature, Shon found himself in the
sixteenth finishing position.

Another $1,000 winner's check was up for grabs for the
Open Wheel Modified warriors tonight at Volusia Speedway Park in
Barberville, Florida. Shon Flanary clicked off the second fastest
lap in his group during time trials prior to placing third in his
stacked heat race. The Surgoinsville, Tennessee ace was eventually
paid for a nineteenth place showing in the A-Main after twenty green

The opening night of the 48th annual 'DIRTcar Nationals'
took place earlier this evening and over 90 Open Wheel Modifieds
were in the Volusia Speedway Park pit area to do battle for the
$1,000 payday. Shon Flanary was unfortunately unable to make the
start in the 20-lap headliner after timing in fifth quickest in
his group during qualifying, finishing fifth in his heat race, and
running second in his Last Chance Showdown.
Nightly Results from East Bay...
26, 2019) The fourth and final night of the Open
Wheel Modified portion of the 'Winternationals' took place earlier
tonight at East Bay Raceway Park and all eyes were fixated on the
$5,000 paycheck. Shon Flanary placed third in his stacked heat race,
which lined him up starting seventeenth on the grid in the 75-lap
headliner. Shon then blasted to the front in the extra-distance
affair and led laps 24-39 of the contest. At the end of the race,
the Surgoinsville, Tennessee ace found himself in the eighth finishing

Shon Flanary Racing was back in the pit area tonight at
East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida, as another $1,500 winner's
check was on the line in the third round of the 'Winternationals'
for Open Wheel Modifieds. Shon Flanary stopped the clock third quickest
in his group during the qualifying session and later drove to a
third place effort in his loaded heat race. In the 30-lap main event,
Shon started from the outside of the seventh row and proceeded to
blast up inside of the top five - eventually garnering a stellar
fifth place performance behind only victor Kyle Bronson, Lucas Lee,
Kevin Adams, and Dale Kelley.

A $1,500 top prize was up for grabs in round two of the
'Winternationals' for the Open Wheel Modifieds tonight at East Bay
(FL) Raceway Park. Shon Flanary timed in eighth fastest in his group
during qualifying prior to moving up to sixth in his heat race.
Following a win in his B-Main, Shon completed only nine circuits
in the 30-lapper and was officially placed twenty-first in the final

The 2019 racing season officially kicked off for Shon Flanary
earlier tonight in the Open Wheel Modified portion of the 43rd Annual
'Winternationals' at East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida.
A stellar field of fifty open wheel warriors converged on the "Clay
by the Bay" to vie for the $1,000 paycheck. Shon knocked down
the second fastest lap in his group during qualifying before scoring
the heat race triumph. At the end of 25 green flag laps in the headliner,
Shon found himself ninth in the final finishing order of his season
