Mechanical Gremlins Spoil Flanary's
2018 Season Opener...
31, 2017) Surgoinsville, Tennessee racer Shon Flanary
kicked off his version of the 2018 racing season a few days before
the turning of the calendar, as the 8th edition of the 'Hangover'
at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tennessee was moved up to Saturday,
December 30 due to a more favorable weather forecast than the original
date of January 1. The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series
lifted the lid to their '18 campaign by presiding over a $1,200
to win special. Shon stopped the clock sixth fastest overall during
the time trial session, which allowed him to start the 25-lap daytime
headliner from the outside of the third row. He then advanced up
to third in the running order before mechanical gremlins under the
hood on his #98 entry caused him to retire from the 'Hangover' in
the fourteenth position. Complete results from yesterday in the
Volunteer State can be accessed online at www.411motorspeedway.net.
